67 year old Gerald Rutledge of Southbury has received three years of probation after pleading guilty to reduced charges in a Brookfield shooting case. His 364-day jail sentence was suspended. Rutledge pleaded guilty to two assault counts and reckless endangerment. Police say a January 2025 fight at the Happy Landings parking lot involved a struggle over his pistol. Another man and a woman suffered gunshot wounds that were not life-threatening. Charges against the other man were dismissed.
